33

Today is my 33rd birthday. 

Do I feel 33? Well, I'm not really sure what 33 is supposed to feel like. 

I know I feel good about my career at age 33. I feel good about not having children at age 33. I feel like I have many of the material things one is supposed to have by age 33. I've accomplished more than I thought I would by age 33-- so 33 is good.

Besides, when I tell people I am 33 they are surprised. "You look younger," they say. Maybe that's why 33 is okay. ;) 

Sergeant First Class

Well the Sergeant First Class list FINALLY came out...

And the sun and moon and stars must have been perfectly aligned because I was selected! My name was on the list!!

OMG its me!

This comes as a total surprise to me. This was my first look at Sergeant First Class. AND I got looked at a year earlier than usual because the Army changed the cut off dates for the board this year. I fell into the group getting looked at by 1 month's date of rank. So I squeaked in by the skin of my teeth and then somehow my board packet was impressive enough for me to be selected.

I'm beyond excited.

My sequence number is 286, so I have a ways to wait before my promotion number will be called. But at least I have a number! Sometime next year I will get promoted!
