Today I was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Force Chief of Operations, COL Njos. He's like the main logistics S-3 guy for the entire MFO. He's kind of a big deal around here. And he took time out, along with MAJ Nobrega (a Canadian Force Training Team officer who've I've worked with quite a few times) to recognize me and thank me for all the medical training I've done while I've been in the Sinai.
Just so you don't have to zoom in on the picture, I'll copy all the wonderful things that were said about me here:
"Throughout her deployment with the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Sinai, Egypt, Sergeant Jacqueline DeGraf has played a superb roll in the provision of medical training at various levels of the Force. Her input regarding medical considerations for Force training, Operational Readiness Checks, Exercises or Competitions was invaluable for the development of viable and timely training scenarios. Her instructional skill was consistently complemented by her calm approach, respectful demeanor and noteworthy professionalism. Her motivation and attentiveness in this regard were evident in her total commitment to key Force training activities and the results of her efforts can be seen in the dramatic increase of medical skills across the MFO. Sergeant DeGraf's professionalism and performance was of the highest order and in the best traditions of the United States Army and the Multinational Force and Observers."
Boom. That citation made me sound like a rockstar!
They may have demoted me on paper to Sergeant, but I'll take it! That Certificate of Appreciation made me feel really good today. I needed a pick me up
